We were at Le Fooding D’Amour tonight (held at PS 1 Contemporary Art Center 22-25 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City, NY 11101). It’s a mess of a food event with lines being the main theme. With at least 1000 people, probably more, and just nine stands to get food….you do the math. The cheese table was always accessible so you could just fill up on cheese all night, but that’s not the point. Drinks are not included in the $30 admission, and they didn’t hire any staff to organize and direct traffic. We waited on a 12 minute line for the Moroccan Cous Cous plate from DB Bistro Moderne 55 West 44th Street, New York, NY 10036 and a 19 minute line for the Black Label Burger from Minetta Tavern 113 MacDougal Street, New York, NY 10012, and despite enjoying both, left after that and would not go to this event again. Note to self: next year, just send check directly to Action Against Hunger.

Daniel Boulud and Jessica at Le Fooding

The highlight of the evening was getting a picture with Daniel Boulud (one of our favorite chefs), who everyone was trying to get pictures with. He was obviously pressed for time but being a really great sport about it. Thanks Daniel.
