Sorry about the horrible pictures this time. These are the worst ever on our point-and-shoot, but Sushi Yasuda remains as good as always. I tried Abalone Guts which is cut into pieces and placed on a shiso leaf (then on the sushi rice and wrapped in seaweed). It was a bit like little snails and I don’t usually like shiso but the flavors worked extremely well together.
Chef Tomura also made a piece of octopus head for me. It was scored with such precision and then lightly barbecued, giving it an interesting texture and light smokiness. Neither of these two offerings were on the menu so I felt very special.

I decided to go to Japan for a vacation in August, so now I’m obsessed with all things Japanese. I wish I could have this meal right now!
wish i could afford a meal there…
Marta, I’m so envious. You have no idea!
Kim, you can. The secret is to start with a sushi combination or sushi sashimi combination dinner. You get to pick your fish out of a list, but it’s $22.50, then you can add a few pieces and that makes it very affordable.
awww how sweet of the chef!
