Big news today….NY Times food critic Frank Bruni will be stepping down from his post to write for the Magazine section of the Times. One of the reasons for this change is Bruni’s desire to publish a memoir of his career, entitled “Born Round: the Secret History of a Full-Time Eater,” slated to be released in August. One big question remains…who will replace him?

wow – thank you for sharing; do you follow the NYtimes food critic closely?
I try to keep up with his reviews when they come out, and I’m always interested in what he has to say. Bruni was an interesting pick for a critic, and I think he has done a great job at the position, keeping up with the times (no pun intended) by being the first critic to blog. There’s lots of talk on the discussion forums as to whether or not he’ll hand out another 4-star rating before he leaves in August. No doubt he is one of the most powerful voices in food and dining.
