Remember when we covered the opening of Totally Baked? Less than a year later, well, they’re gone. No big surprise. The food was ok, but expensive; they over-spent on the decor and on packaging; and the logistics were a nightmare. It was a cute idea while it lasted, albeit impractical.
So, Chef & Co. has regained the space and turned it into Song Sushi, a place hocking unexciting, over-priced sushi and a few cooked items. It looks like a take-out counter. How long will this one last?

When places close I always hope something good will open, good food at decent prices. Working in this area, so many things are overpriced… that’s an incentive for me to bring my own lunch. But I wonder, what will take Au Bon Pain’s place on 5th ave?
Tammy – Yep, I wonder the same thing! I walked past ABP on 5th everyday to work, and it was always full. So interesting that it closed. Great location though, so hopefully something decent will come in.
