These are just like Rice Krispy Treats, simple to make, yummy, and you can continue lying to yourself about healthy they are because they’re made of cereal. Our motivation for making them is soon to come. Stay Tuned…
Cheerios Marshmallow Treats
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1 (10.5 ounce) package regular marshmallows
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 6 cups cheerios
Instructions
- Spray a 13X9 inch pan with non-stick.
- Melt butter in large pot over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Stir in vanilla. Stir in cheerios until well coated. Using lightly buttered spatula, pour into prepared pan. Using a piece of wax paper sprayed with non-stick, pat down the cheerios so that it’s flat.
- Allow mixture to cool.
Nice!!!
one of my fav snacks!! thanks for the recipe as i always wonder how to make this.
i don’t think i’ve ever made any type of rice krispy treat (or in this case, cheerio treat), but that looks absolutely adorable!
Thanks for the compliments everyone! It actually looks too plain like this. If I were going to serve these, I’d drizzle or dip in chocolate, but you’ll soon see what we’re using it for. =)
So cute–looks yummy!
what a fun idea – i love this!
Asianmommy, perfect for the kiddies.
Julia, thanks for visiting!
try making it with fruity cherrios. My kids love them and they are just as healthy
Kathy, that sounds fun! I couldn’t eat it though since I’m allergic to food coloring, but I’d make it for others.
YUMM! I love this variation on rice krispy treats! PLUS they’re higher in whole grains & fiber (if you use the multi grain cheerios)-I ate some even before they cooled-great addition (vanilla extract) I hadn’t used that before in my crispy treats- Thanks a LOT! 🙂 I made them for our halloween party 🙂
