On Tues, we went to Carol’s election party. The theme was to bring a comfort food so we brought the Maple Pecan Sticky Buns.

Then we thought, it’d be so fun to take a picture of each person with their comfort food. Of course, that means booz.

Split Pea Soup, healthy but yea, soup is always comforting.

Bread and Cheese. She read my mind.

Rice Krispy Treats. It’s hard to see in the picture, but she made “O” imprints in them.

Squash pie. I’m usually not a fan but this one was wonderfully light and natural tasting.

Grapes? as long as they’re seedless, we can call them comfort food.

Arroz con Leche, a spanish style rice pudding, made without eggs.

Coffee Cake with coffee is always soothing.

Carol also put out a lox spread and for a very Jewish crowd, that is absolutely comfort food. She also made apple bread pudding, samosa/empanadas, and mac & cheese. (Sorry, I’m missing some pics.)

Oh, and last but not least, hot dogs. These were Zabar’s beef frankfurters, which are fabulous.

The winner of the night was when Lon made a hot dogs with mac & cheese. Yum!
