This is one of my favorite pastas, and I only tried it because I had a coupon for a free package when we first joined the cooperative grocery in town. I *adore* this stuff, but often squirm at the price too--usually $4 regularly/ $3.25 on sale.

We do have Costco in NY but pretty far from us since we're in Manhattan. We go to BJ's more often than Costco just because it's more convenient. Both have the problem of stocking inconsistently though. They'll have something one time and not another but I'll keep an eye out for Garofalo. thanks!

Got it at Costco. I started shopping at Whole Foods about 15 years ago but it's getting way too expensive. C'mon, $4.99 per lb of valencia orange???

I just look up the recipe and pasta package to type up the following info.

$7.69 for a bulk package consists of 6 packs, 17.6 oz (500g) of organic durum wheat semolina.
Made in Italy from a family who have made pasta for over 200 years in the town of Gragnano. The town was named for wheat (grano). The 'brand name' is Garofalo on the package.

The bulk package consists of 2 packs of gemelli, 2 packs of penne zitti rigate, and 2 packs of casarecce. Basically different shapes of pasta.

I don't normally recommend Costco food product but this one is definitely a winner. We (2 adults) can literally consume a pound a pasta for a dinner when we were in our twenties. Try to cut down now but still love pasta.

website on the package is www.pandlimports.com, the import company.

Have fun hunting as I am from California but I understand you have Costco in Brooklyn. Not sure if they carry the same products.

i got a package of italian organic 100% durum semolina pasta from costco. Don't remember the price but very very reasonable. Though I have been skeptical about the costco 'food' products and thought would give it a try given the economy. Tried it this week and really like it. The cooked pasta had that italian faire, al dente, and 'silky' at the same time. I would recommend them.
